Aligning with the studio theme of Commoning, the project hopes to foster new social interactions organized by the new shuttle bus system for residents in the gated community in modern China.

All public space in the gated community is managed by the authorities and belongs to the state. Private space has a clear boundary that segregates from others. The Commons, however, in the middle of the public and the private, is kind of a third area where empowers the participants of the commoning process with equal rights to access, engage or empower the shared space, resources and rights.

The Commons brings different people together, taking people who might be somehow neglected into the public view.  The new shuttle bus system initiated from the common need of all residents, and through this organizer, aggregates residents together in their daily life and renovates the often disregarded, outlived or scrapped sides of the community which is valuable but neglected today.
